They always seem to have problems against certain teams no matter how well they're supposed to be.

So do you think there will be playoff baseball in Canada this year then?

:biglaugh: I dont think so either. Would have been nice to see JP put together a deal to get a pitcher or infielder yesterday at the trade deadline. Oh well...We Canadians can go on dreaming and remembering the good old years of 92-93

Molina bitching about playing time...Tank the season now. Season is already tanked man..... So much hope was riding on this team....so many new and impressive players. Ryan started solid, but has choked too much lately (still better than Batista though) and Burnett just plain ass sucks. Need more solid innings out of him. He's only good for 4-5 innings. They need more than that out of him.... I guess there is always next year.

it's too bad, i hoped maybe they'd make another signing or a trade and slip into the playoffs.. they are still missing a few pieces though

There was a lot of promise heading into this season.
Ryan--started very well...lately hasn't been the dominant closer we saw early.
Burnett-this guy has never had an over 500 record. I was surprised by the signing and the money they paid for him....hasnt come close to living up to the expectations that were placed on him.
Molina--crying about playing time. Haven't been overly impressed with him either. I would have stuck with Zaun all season and a rookie catcher back-up.
On the plus side however..
Hinske has played very well considering JP was trying to trade him to any team in the off-season.
Rios---this guy is awesome. If he can stay healthy for a full season watch out.
Halladay---need I say anything??

Don't forget about Glauss and Overbay. Overbay had a slow start but is coming around, and Glauss has been a welcome addition. Wells is money and Hill has been terrific at second, which has been a great suprise defensively.
All in all, I am pleased with how the team has performed overall, but we need some better pitching from everyone except Halladay. He's flat out money.

The one at the end of July is the waiver trade deadline. Any deals that come out now, the player needs to clear waivers I believe.
Mind you, if that was the case, I can't imagine Hinske clearing waivers.
