I would've liked to have seen Tyson Nash back but I don't know how well he looked when he was there.

Eberle was on the top line with Tavares centering the 2nd. Can't say that news is disappointing. They both scored anyway, but it's nice to have another successful prospect on the way.

I would've liked to have seen Tyson Nash back but I don't know how well he looked when he was there. This could have have nothing to do with it, or it could have had everything to do with it. Kane plays for Vancouver. Who is part owner of Vancouver ... Pat Quinn. I was surpised Hall from Windsor didn't make the team in the 1st place so I thought he might have been the guy getting the call. But I also don't see any of the WHL (or the QMJHL) here. Kane plays in tonight's Exhibition Game, I'll be watching at Work, and will be watching the Leafs Game at the same time.

Tavares has set an all-time record for powerplay goals at the World Juniors and the tournament has barely started.

Theres a lot of people complaining that the Canucks ran up the score on the Kazacks. I think they took the pedal off in the 3rd. If this tournament runs on a goals for/against for tie breakers what do you expect to happen to the poorer teams?

Germany also beat Kazahkstan 9-0, so what does that say. I have to agree with what Bob Mackenzie was saying yesterday that they need to resort back to the 8 team tourney instead of 10, the 6 powers (Canada, US, Russia, Czech, Slovakia, Finland, Sweden) and the top 2 qualifiers that year. I'm sure those kids might enjoy the experience of the tournament, especially coming from a poor country, but getting blown out by every team can't be warm fuzzy feelings all the time.

Another point is, the teams qualifying to come up from the "B" Tourney to the "A" Tourney, often loose most of the players who got them up to the A tournament, by they time the next year rolls around.
Maybe they should look at playing the qualification tournament in the Summer or Fall?

it'd be more helpful with a Fall tournament but then I wonder if the European leagues would start complaining. I wonder if that's why those lower level tournaments are held at the same time.
As well, why would those international teams be missing players from one year to the next? Unless there's a lot of turnover or retirements there should still be basically the same personnel.

Most teams that win the "B" Tournament to move up, win with a mostly 19 year old roster. When the next season rolls around, they are all too old for the World Juniors.

They had me wondering with all the penalties and 3 straight goals from USA. Nice to see 3 quickies to tie it up before the 1st intermission.

People were freaking in the stands when we were down 3-0.
The place was electric, last time I was at a game that felt like that was the 2005 Memorial Cup.
After the game was well away (empty netter) the man beside me said: "Thank God! I thought I was going to have a Heart Attack"

Canada looked sloppy in the early going. If they want to win this tourney they cant have another awful start like that. Kudos to them for getting it together though.

Hopefully Eberle will be here within a few years. He shouldn't need 4 years in the minors.
