Well it's that time of year again! As we digest our Christmas turkey (or whatever) we flip on the TV to watch the best Junior players in the country play! HockeyCanada's WJHC WebsiteWithout a doubt this tournament is my favourite part of the Holiday Season.

You going to any of the games, Brae, or are you saving up for Brandon? I went in on a package with an uncle. My Aunt is dragging him to Florida after Canada/Kazakhstan game. So I get Canada/Germany and CANADA/USA!!!! As well as all the playoff round games. 2010 is in Saskatchewan (Saskatoon & Regina) Terry, and don't forget the 2011 tourney is in Buffalo ... even closer the Ottawa for me. Maybe I'll shoot for 2012 in Edmonton/Calgary as a big trip LOL

Also nice that it's in Ottawa, so there's no having to watch morning/early afternoon hockey during the week.

Also nice that it's in Ottawa, so there's no having to watch morning/early afternoon hockey during the week. I was wondering if it has a little something to do with both. I've always loved watching this tourney too. It's like what Christmas is to kids, staying up until 1-2am or getting up at 4-5am to see the goods.

They could never drag my ass out of bed before 10am on Christmas day. But on Boxing Day - if need was, I would be up at 5:30, brewing a pot of coffee so I would be wide awake and alert for 6! I wasn't surly or early-morning crabby, I was downright giddy!

I have the night off work (they are not expecting a large audience due to the weather), and I have a ticket to the game tonight! I am looking forward to it!

TSN.caKANE REPLACES INJURED TYRELL FOR CANADIAN JUNIORSTSN.CA STAFFReinforcements are on the way for the Canadian National junior team. Vancouver Giants forward Evander Kane has rejoined the squad after Dana Tyrell suffered a significant knee injury during Friday's pre-tournament victory over Team Sweden. The Prince George Citizen is reporting that the injury has likely ended Tyrell's tournament. The 17-year old Kane was among the final cuts made by Team Canada and many were shocked that he wasn't originally chosen when the roster was announced. The Vancouver native is enjoying a fantastic season with the Giants as he is sixth in the WHL in scoring with 22 goals and 26 assists in 28 games. If Tyrell's tournament is in fact over it would be doubly heart-breaking for the Prince George Cougar sniper as he was hampered by a knee strain last year and failed to make the final roster. Canada hopes to have Kane in the lineup Sunday when they face Finland in another exhibition contest. Canada's first official game at the World Junior tournament takes place on Boxing Day against the Czech Republic. The following line combinations were used during Saturday's practice: Boychuk - Hodgson - Eberle Benn - Tavares - DiDomenico Esposito - Sonne - Ennis Subban - Cormier - Della Rovere
