TORONTO (CP) - The Toronto Blue Jays and manager John Gibbons have agreed to a one-year contract extension.
A source tells The Canadian Press the deal, which will take the manager through the 2008 season, is worth US$650,000. Gibbons will make $500,000 this year.
However, a Jays spokesman said Monday there had been discussions but nothing had been signed yet.
The Jays finished second in the American League East in 2006 with a 87-75 record.

Good call. I think that he's a good manager (hell of a lot better than Buck Martinez, who should have never left the broadcast booth) who can get the most from his guys.
Because if they don't, he'll beat them up! LOL
