The Blue Jays reached agreement on a four-year, $24 million contract with the first baseman. Overbay will earn $4.2 million in 2007 with his salary increasing to $5.8 million in 2008. In 2009 and 2010, he will earn $7 million. Under terms of the deal, Overbay will also be making an $80,000 donation to the Jays Care Foundation, which is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for children and youth in Toronto. Overbay joined the Blue Jays in December 2005 in a deal with the Milwaukee Brewers. He hit .312 with 22 home runs and 92 RBI last season including 46 doubles, whcih was fourth best in the American League. With Overbay's deal done, the Blue Jays only have three arbitration eligible players without contracts: Alex Rios, Reed Johnson and Scott Downs.

This is awesome. Overbay was clutch last season. He is 40 times better then Hinske whats his name. The jays are looking good so far but where the fuck is another pitcher. Ricciardi better buck up or fuck off.

Great move. He started off slow, but became clutch near the end. I think this signing will pay off big in the future.

It will be huge. This team is awesome everywhere but on the mound. That is Riccardis achilles heel.

Hopefully he is better. I think we can swing a deal with the White Sox for their starters.
