Czech forward Vincour headed to Edmonton as top pick in CHL import draft TORONTO (CP) - The expansion Edmonton Oil Kings selected Czech forward Tomas Vincour first overall in Wednesday's Canadian Hockey League import draft. The 16-year-old Vincour had 15 goals and 24 assists in 41 games for Kometa Brno in the under-20 Czech Junior League. He's also played five career games in the Czech first division. "Tomas is a highly skilled forward with potential to be an outstanding player in this league," Oil Kings GM Bob Green said in a statement. "We've heard some great things about this player and look forward to seeing him at our training camp in late August." The six-foot-two, 198-pound Vincour will be eligible for the NHL entry draft in 2009. The Oil Kings will begin in play in the WHL next season. The CHL import draft involves every team from the Western Hockey League, Ontario Hockey League and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Each CHL team is allowed to have two European players on its roster. The Erie Otters selected goalie Jaroslav Janus of Slovakia with the second pick while the Saint John Sea Dogs picked Swiss netminder Robert Mayer with the third pick. Rounding out the top five, Czech winger Radim Valchar went fourth to the Portland Winter Hawks and Swedish winger Mikkel Bodker was picked fifth by the Kitchener Rangers. www.nhl.com/nhl/app?articleid=323208&page=NewsPage&service=page

Oiler draft pick Milan Kytnar was selected 7th by Kelowna. Not sure when the Rockets come to town but it'll be a good chance to watch Milan in action.
BTW, London took Vladimir Roth 11th. They'll also have another pick at 58. Oil Kings also have another pick at 61.
