GM Steve Tambellini announces the Oilers have agreed to terms with forward Taylor Hall on a new seven-year contract extension with an average annual value (AAV) of $6 million.

Good to see him locked up. He'll be in his prime years and UFA when this contract is done. Seems like a bit much too soon, but along the same lines as other contracts I guess (i.e. Skinner/Tavares).
Wonder if this looming CBA bullshit is making GM's sign guys shead of time because they are scared of the unknown or new restrictions that might be imposed. With the NHL and players union barely meeting for 90 minutes once a week there is definitely gonna be a lockout anyway.
