General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have agreed to terms with left-winger Lennart Petrell on a one-year contract extension.
Petrell, 28, played in his first season in the National Hockey League with the Oilers appearing in 60 games recording four goals and five assists with 45 penalty minutes. He also played in nine games with the Oklahoma City Barons in the American Hockey League scoring two goals and adding two assists.
The 6’3”, 198-pound Helsinki, Finland native scored his first NHL goal on November 2, 2011 after signing as a free agent last summer. Petrell spent the previous seven seasons with HIFK Helsinki-Finland in the SM-Iiiga league.
