According to sportsnet.ca’s Nick Kypreos, another defenceman may be off the trading block as Andy Sutton and the Edmonton Oilers have presumably agreed to a one-year deal in the region of $1.75 million.
Sutton has scored three goals and nine points in 32 games so far in his first season with the Oilers.
The veteran defenceman has played a total of 656 games over 13 seasons with the San Jose Sharks, Minnesota Wild, Atlanta Thrashers, New York Islanders, Ottawa Senators, Anaheim Ducks, and Edmonton Oilers.

We needed to keep him in the fold. I like this. He's a big guy who hits and blocks shots.
