Do the Oilers have a team nutritionist? After watching Eberle on After Hours on CBC Saturday night, I started to wonder about this and immediately thought of Gary Roberts' summer fitness/nutrition camp where he gets guys on healthy diets and cuts out the garbage. They asked Ebs the old "who's a better cook" thing again between him and Hall and he replied that he probably is, but they don't even cook at home. They eat all their meals at Joey's, Earls, and Cactus Club. They then showed the shot of the huge box of Kraft Dinner from the season one Oil Change visit to their apartment. I personally think (and know from working at Cactus Club as a teenager) that the food quality of those places is absolutely shit. I know they need to consume a lot of calories, but there are also the proper kind to be consuming. Kraft Dinner shouldn't even qualify as food since it's probably worse for you than starving yourself. I was just curious to how this may play into anything from fitness levels vs. effort on ice, to health/state of the body vs. injuries. I guess I was naive to just assume that they ate good and healthy being professional atheletes. Signed, Your friendly neighborhood alcoholic.
