The Detroit Red Wings re-signed forward Patrick Eaves to a one-year contract on Wednesday. The Calgary native had been a restricted free agent.
The 26-year old just completed his first season in Detroit, where he scored 12 goals and 10 assists in 65 games. In five NHL seasons, Eaves has compiled 57 goals and 112 points for the Red Wings, Senators, and Hurricanes.
Eaves was Ottawa's first-round pick (29th overall) in the 2003 draft. He played parts of three seasons with the Senators before being traded to Carolina during the 2007-08 season.
