I got a chance to see our minor league team last night. All I can say, disturbing. That team is eerily similar to the big club. The Falcons had a 4-1 lead going into the third, blew that lead that and lost 5-4 in Overtime. They were also big time out shot 55-25 I believe. Sound fimilar? Jordan Eberle has alot of talent. He was great to watch and I am excited about him in Edmonton. He had a goal in the first minute and had an assist. He almost put the puck in the net from his back but Brad Thiessen made a remarkable save. Dean Arnse was solid and is a decent call up if there are any injuries. Plante was out with an injury so I could not see what he could bring. Sadly the second best player the Falcons had on the ice that night was Liam Reddox. That scares me only for the reason that he is a 4th liner at best in the NHL. He was laying out a lot of big hits, that was impressive and he had a goal. Back to Eberle. What I liked other then his scoring ability was that he could take hard hits and he was back checking in the game really well. He was not a defensive liabilty like Rob Schremp was a lot of times when I saw him.
