What I do know:If a team claims a player off waivers that player must stay on that teams NHL roster or else be exposed to waivers again. What I don't know:Does the team that lost that player to waivers have first crack at reclaiming him, or does the shittiest team still get first dibbs? I'm thinking of last season when we claimed Jesse Boulerice off waivers from Colorado, played him 2 games, and put him back on waivers. Colorado in turn reclaimed him. Did they have first crack or did nobody else want him. I was also curious if anyone knows of some kind of good waiver wire web page or watch. There's this useless TSN transaction page www.tsn.ca/nhl/transactions/ but I don't know if there's anyway to tell a guy cleared waivers or got claimed. I'm thinking they would have a transaction from the team that aquired them, but who knows.

I am sure the team that lost him gets first crack.

Yeah, I believe that's so. Which means that, unless someone gets waived that someone feels will either be on the big team or wouldn't be picked up by anyone else, a player usually passes through waivers.

I'm not worried at all about losing our garbage then. It would really be a blessing in disguise to lose a bunch of contracts. No coincidence everyone facing waivers got a one year deal.

I noticed a thread over on HF about this shit too and half the people think one thing and half the other, then the name calling starts. I guess I'll just wait and see what happens to know for sure.

It was reported by Jim Matheson that none of the 3 sent through waivers were taken.

I wasn't too worried about those 3. It will be the next 5.
