I hear peckham is called up as an emerg dman. THEO PECKHAM RECALLED FROM SPRINGFIELD General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today that the Edmonton Oilers have recalled defenceman Theo Peckham from the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League. Peckham’s recall was necessitated following Steve Staios’ return to Edmonton for personal reasons. Peckham made his NHL debut with the Oilers last season, skating in a 2-1 overtime win at Columbus on March 7, 2008. He was scoreless and even in 13:22 of ice time with one hit and two blocked shots against the Blue Jackets. He registered his first career penalty minute with a first period interference minor. With Springfield this season, the 6’2”, 223 pound defenceman has scored two goals and an assist in five games to rank third in scoring on the Oilers’ AHL affiliate. Both of his goals have come on the powerplay and he is +1 with 18 penalty minutes. Peckham will wear #49 with the Oilers. The Edmonton Oilers 30th Anniversary Season is presented in part by the Rexall Family of Pharmacies, Bell, Molson Canadian, ATB Financial and Ford. From the pipelineHope Theo tosses a few hits out there.

That's the problem when you have players in the minors that have their own number when they are wit the big team. Can't say if it was that way in the past or if someone called up just got whatever number was available.

Well, I guess we can chalk a loss tonight. A no-hitter tonight and the Avs are just skating around the guys. We need a lot more toughness out there.

It was a replay of the Chicago game. Everyone standing around on the power play instead of moving around to get open for a pass or shot (well only passes really, we don't shoot). I can't help but just sit and watch while shaking my head. Horcs on one half boards, Hemsky on the other and they're just fucking standing there, out of the play and out to lunch. We seemed to like going to the penalty box last night too.
Bag skate them if they can't keep their feet moving. The standing around crap is a complete embarrassment.

Agree, Jay. They have 4 really lucky wins and now 2 losses in a row. We're just about to go on a really long road trip. They need some serious discipline.

Oh. And I'm sorry, but I laughed right out loud when Laperriere made fun of Stortini. Stortini is not an enforcer.

I only got to catch the last bit of the 2nd and 3rd.. but judging by everyones reaction, we werent that great I watched much of the first 2 periods but then turned it after the Avs took the lead. I was hoping that the guys were playing a good road game and surviving the Avs offense. But it was a no-hitter and it seemed like we couldn't make any good scoring chances out of any play in their end. Eventually, Colorado managed to pounce on some loosw pucks and put them in the net.
