Former Oiler Jarrett Stoll inked a new contract with the Kings on Thursday.SPORTSNET.CA Jarret Stoll has agreed to a four-year, $14 million deal with the Los Angeles Kings. Stoll, 26, earned $2.2 million with the Edmonton Oilers last season before being traded along with Matt Greene to the Kings June 29 for Lubomir Visnovsky. Stoll had 14 goals and 22 assists in 81 games with Edmonton in 2007-08, where he'd played since being drafted by the Oilers in the second round of the 2002 Entry Draft. www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/2008/09/04/stoll_kings_contract/

How in the hell does Stoll get a 1.3 mil a year raise after the dismal numbers he put up last year. Perhaps the Kings are just trying to make it to the cap floor.

If Stoll can put together his pre-concussion play, then he's worth the raise. And if he can stay out of the California lifestyle.

Terry that is where I see Stoll having the problem. Just like Roenuick, The California lifestyle. Mainly LA.

Either that, or John Ferguson Jr is working for the Kings now... wait if that was the case Stoll would be getting 5 mil. What is the cap floor this year?

After the 06/07 season, I thought Stoll was going to be a big player for us, but he was terrible last year. I wasn't sorry to see him go. I wish him luck in LA, but I agree with puck - better there than here.

Stoll got a four-year deal, while Richardson signed a two-year contract. Stoll was acquired by the Kings with defenceman Matt Greene from Edmonton in exchange for Lubomir Visnovsky in June. Stoll had 14 goals and 22 assists in 81 games for the Oilers last season. He played on their 2006 team that lost in the Stanley Cup finals. Richardson was acquired by the Kings from Colorado in June for a second-round selection in this year's NHL entry draft. He had two goals and three assists in 22 regular season games with the Avalanche last season. He also played 38 games with Lake Erie, Colorado's AHL affiliate, and had 14 goals and 26 assists.
