Sharks re-sign D Christian Ehrhoff Associated Press Jul 9, 2008, 6:41 PM EDT SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) -Defenseman Christian Ehrhoff re-signed with the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday, agreeing to a three-year deal worth $9.3 million. Ehrhoff, a German Olympian who has spent his entire NHL career with San Jose, was a restricted free agent. He had one goal and 21 assists last season in 77 games, leading the team with 108 blocked shots. Ehrhoff also played through a serious ankle injury in the postseason, recording five assists in 10 games. "He got injured late in the regular season and showed a great deal of heart by playing through the playoffs," Sharks general manager Doug Wilson said. "We expect him to continue to get better and be a big contributor for this organization." San Jose made wholesale changes to its defense last week, signing free agent Rob Blake and acquiring Dan Boyle and Brad Lukowich in a trade that sent Matt Carle to Tampa Bay. The Sharks also traded Craig Rivet to Buffalo for draft picks after acquiring Boyle's large contract. www.nhl.com/nhl/app?articleid=368129&page=NewsPage&service=page
