The trade deadline is Wednesday, March 3rd at 1 PM Mountain. Who'll move to bigger and better things and who'll be kicked to the curb? There should be lots of action between now and then. You can watch on TSN or Sportsnet or online at www.tsn.ca or www.sportsnet.ca . Both shows begin at 6 AM Mountain.

Garbagekov to Nashville for a second round pick. I didn't even think he was worth that much. Good job, Tambo.

I don't understand why RFA's are guaranteed a 10% increase on their salary. That's the best thing about ditching Grebs as he's not even worth the $3.15M he's making now. Can't wait for more.

I was over at the OB yesterday killing brain cells and people were actually saying this was a bad deal and that he's a great defenseman. I'm surprised we were able to get a second rounder for him. I really am. He's garbage and not even worth half of what he's "earning"

A lot of people thought we could get a lot more for him. I don't know where they heard this or if they were watching Smid play and got confused. We are lucky we got a second rounder for this guy. I heard he is going to the KHL next year anyway.

Okay, here's what I'm hearing. I was told that there has been lots of discussion going on, but these seem to have the strongest legs at this point.
- Souray to an Eastern Conference team for two prospects and a conditional pick (the round would be determined by how many games Souray plays for them next season). Given the rumors from the insiders, I'm obviously leaning toward thinking it's the Rangers who are most interested.
- Moreau or Pisani to Los Angeles for a pick. I hear the Oilers are looking for a 2nd but are not being offered that, at least not as of a day or two ago.
You guys know that I wouldn't post this stuff without some knowledge...I'm not one to BS people. And of course these names aren't earth shattering, but it does place some names and possible returns to certain teams. This is really the only information I've heard from this guy since the spring of 2006.
Also of note, I'm not saying these are imminent...but apparently the talks are ongoing/strong. We'll see how it plays out.

Would Souray want to move further away from his kids? That's what I think will kill that trade.
Yeah, it'd be tough to get much for Moreau or Pisani. Just getting rid of them might be good enough.

Well, New York was one of the teams that was on Souray's list, so I'd say there's potential. He seems like a New York kinda guy, too.
As much as I don't like the way Tambellini has handled things so far, it sounds like he's doing his due diligence here. I bet the discussions are changing by the minute with the amount of teams the Oilers are talking to.

I haven't looked at Souray's list. I guess he must want to go to a big market. I just figured he wanted to be closer to California. But I wonder if that might be an off-season trade due to his injury.
Hard to say who else might be gone by tomorrow.
